Software Automation - boon or bane?
Software automation has proved its worth over a period of time.
By simple definition automation means simulating the manual steps automatically with the use of code. At many places where repetitive testing is required automation does wonderfully well, however at the same time we can say that dependency on automation is increasing so much that sometime few defects are leaking into production.
Automation team members are considers as costlier then manual testing team member. Do you think that after automating the application, we are limiting the manual testing (Testing results with one team member and automation script can do the same task what 4-5 manual testing team member do).
Similarly there are various points when one can say that automation is boon for business and others will say it is a bane.
What is your perspective for software automation??
