Siemens engineers are busy creating the biggest Wind Turbine Blades in the world. The B75 blade is world's largest, measuring whooping 75 meters in length. It's also the biggest fiberglass component cast in one piece! Check following photo -

Siemens is manufacturing these blades for prototype 6MW offshore wind power system in Denmark's Ãsterild test station. When in motion, the blades will cover an area of 18,600 sq.m; almost equal to two and a half soccer fields. The tip of each blade will move at a speed of 80 m/s or 290 kmph. Siemens used their patented IntegralBlade process technology to manufacture these gigantic blades. More about this on the link below. Siemen's another patented process called 'QuantumBlade' allowed the weight of the blades to be 20% lesser than the traditional blades. Siemens had earlier manufactured 60m long blades for the wind farm at Gunfleet Sands in England.
