It is true that these chemicals end up on the ground and probably into the ground water. That happens even if you do not clean. The process does not add any new pollutant.

not adding additonal pollutants sounds green, but again ending up in ground water wont make the newer method any different from already existing pollutants. I am not trying to be crtical here . Just a thought.

That is not what I meant. In any case all those pollutants would have ended in the ground water. However, the catalytic conversion renders the chemicals harmless.
