  • Seagate has announced a 4TB variant of the GoFlex hard drive; making it the highest capacity external storage on the market. The GoFlex Desk will have support for USB2.0 and USB3.0. The Mac version will come with USB 2.0 and firewire compatibility.

    People nowadays, are archiving their memories in the form of high definition videos and high megapixel photos. The GoFlex Desk has the potential to become your memory-warehouse! To give you a brief idea of how much 4TB is, the new GoFlex Desk 4TB drive has the space to contain over 2,000 HD movies!!

    The drive comes in two parts: the hard drive and the adapter. The hard drive is basically just the internal hard drive in a plastic chassis. At the bottom, there’s a small opening for the internal hard drive's SATA female connector. The adapter part has a male SATA connector, and these two parts can be fit into each other to form the GoFlex external hard drive. GoFlex Desk chassis has been redesigned to allow more heat to escape via large venting on the rear.

    The GoFlex Desk is retailing for $250 on Seagate's website and comes with a two year warranty.
