Hi, Check my project, Scrolling displays in numeric. In this project i have used basic logical IC's which are common to all student. here is the list of component used. [FONT=&quot]1.) [/FONT][FONT=&quot]Power supply (12V).[/FONT] [FONT=&quot]2.) [/FONT][FONT=&quot]Clock pulse ( 555 IC).[/FONT] [FONT=&quot]3.) [/FONT][FONT=&quot]Decade counters ( 4017 IC).[/FONT] [FONT=&quot]4.) [/FONT][FONT=&quot]Couple of AND GATES ( CMOS 4081/ TTL 7408).[/FONT] [FONT=&quot]5.) [/FONT][FONT=&quot]SEVEN Segment display (as per message).[/FONT] [FONT=&quot]6.) [/FONT][FONT=&quot]BCD to SEVEN Segment Driver ( IC TTL 7447/ CMOS 4011).[/FONT] [FONT=&quot]7.) [/FONT][FONT=&quot]OR GATES (7432).[/FONT] [FONT=&quot]8.) Hi,

I too have Designed the Scrolling Display but it was with micro-controller and also connected with GSM Modem,

I have not used KIT for this project. and not sure kit price is depend on the feature you want i think so.

With Microprocessor i think you need to interface other devices but the use of Microcontoller is far better for that first start reading basics about Microcontroller 8051.

Well Pritesh there are PICKIT available for PIC.
But i am using freescale mostly and i think it has no any open-source programmer available.

Well Pritesh,
I am not using any KIT for controller i just use programmer and i am using Freescale microcontroller not PIC and the PICKIT is basically not Kit its Programmer name first be clear that which controller you want to use there are so many microcontroller company and its not possible to buy the programmer of all the controller so i suggest that first make sure that on which platform you want to start your work. hop this things make the clear vision for you.

he said that there available of 2 types with programmed and without programmed

Is your friend working on Microcontroller?

well microcontroller is a device which you can program according to your application. See if i buy a controller that is without programmed and i write code for my application and load into that and sell it to you then it becomes with program. 😁 😛
