  • Samsung Smart Home service, which connects all home appliances like Smart TVs, smartphones, refrigerators, washing machines, digital cameras, the Galaxy Gear, etc via a single integrated platform and server, is all set to be unveiled at CES 2014. In addition to this, the South Korean company has confirmed that this smart home service shall be initiated across Samsung devices in the first half of 2014 itself. The plans to collaborate with partners to expand Samsung's Smart Home service has also been revealed. Memory's fresh with LG announcing a similar service called HomeChat, that let users monitor and control home appliances through smartphones.

    Elaborating the service further, Samsung stated that it shall offer three main services, which are listed below-
    • Device Control: Offers customized settings on user's devices to control and monitor home devices.
    • Home View: Lets user get real-time views of home via built-in cameras in appliances
    • Smart Customer: This notifies customer when a particular appliance needs servicing

    Wonpyo Hong, President, Media Solutions Centre, Samsung Electronics, commented on the announcement- "With Samsung Smart Home, we are bringing our capabilities as the world's number-one manufacturer of smart devices to make the connected home a reality for consumers today. In the coming days, we will continue to roll out better home services to our consumers to enable them to keep enjoying a brand-new experience of 'Smart Living and Beyond'."
