The head of Samsungâs TV division recently informed the media reporters that very soon the world will be experiencing what may be called a new revolution, referring to launch of Google TVâs and the collaboration is almost done. The present version Google TV allows the users to hop on to certain websites and also play online video games. Certain integral features of computers are already rendered by the device.#-Link-Snipped-#
Samsung in January exhibited a new Google TV-rendered Blu-ray player and companion box at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The plastic blu ray disc is 120 mm in diameter and 1.2 mm thick, similar to the DVDs and CDs. Blu-ray Discs contain 25 GB(23.31 GiB) per layer, with dual layer discs (50 GB) being the norm for feature-length video discs. Triple layer discs (100 GB) and quadruple layers (128 GB) are also ready for BD-XL Blu-ray re-writer drives. Presently movie production companies have not used the triple or quadruple layer discs; most consumer owned Blu-ray players will not be able to read the additional layers, while newer Blu-ray players may require a firmware update to play the triple and quadruple sized discs.
Yoon Boo-keun, president of Samsungâs TV division gave a brief consent over the issue completely refusing to disply the schedule. He said that in the upcoming month of January the company has planned to unveil TVâs featuring next generation OLED displays. OLED stands for Organic Light Emitting Diode. The âorganicâ in OLED refers to organic material. Carbon is the basis of all organic matter. Examples of carbon-based substances include sugar, wood and the majority of plastics. The âLEDâ stands for âLight Emitting Diodeâ and describes the process of converting electric energy into light. There are two types of OLEDs small molecule OLED and polymer OLED. Sony uses the small molecule type because it has a longer lifespan.
The company has undertaken this step viewing the decline in the sales of upcoming TVâs and is almost sure that their efforts will work for the increase in sales to their desire.
