Samsung has announced the addition of a new member to their Galaxy Tab family with a new tablet called the 'Galaxy Tab S', which is said to have the most advanced display. The thinnest and lightest tablet ever produced by the company, the Galaxy Tab S will come in two sizes - 8.4 inch and 10.5 inch. Both of them have a WQXGA Super AMOLED display having a screen resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixel. Having a contrast ratio of 100,000:1, this Super AMOLED display will provide deeper and more realistic images by making blacks darker and whites brighter.
The Galaxy Tab S will be powered either by an Exynos 5 Octa (1.9 GHz QuadCore ＋ 1.3 GHz Quadcore) or by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 2.3 GHz Quadcore processor. It will run on Android 4.4 Kitkat and will have 3 GB of RAM. It will have an internal storage of 16 GB or 32 GB and will be expandable to 128 GB. On the rear there is an 8-megapixel cam with LED flash whereas it has a 2.1-megapixel Full HD cam on the front. The 4,900 mAh( for 8.4 inch) and 7,900 mAh( for 10.5 inch) batteries will provide enough juice for a day.
This Tab will also feature the debut of "Papergarden"-Samsung’s magazine service. This app will provide optimized viewing environment for digital interactive magazines, so that users will be able to view a wide range of popular magazines with vivid and true-to-life colors.
One more notable feature in these tabs is that they’ll have SideSync 3.0- which lets you play games installed on your compatible galaxy smartphone on larger tablet screen. It will also allow you to answer calls on your tablet, even if your phone is in another room.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S will be available from 4th July for a hefty price of $399.99 (8.4inch) and $499.99 (10.5 inch).
