Samsung Curved Display For PCs Is What's Next - Features At Glance

Samsung surely loves its curves. Post the launch of several Samsung Launches A Curved Soundbar For Your TV And An Affordable Wireless Multiroom System over the period of last few years, Samsung has now announced the new Ativ One 7 curved. With this declaration, Samsung has surely done something fresh. It has brought the elastic display technologies used in Samsung 85" 85S9 Ultra HD TV (4K) Price In India Is Rs. 27 Lakh! and smartphones and has made it suitable for the PC arcade. This newly curved PC will be on display at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) to be held in Las Vegas between 6th and 9th January.

The specs of the desktop have also been announced, and to say the least, they are pretty good. The PC will have a core i5 processor, 8 GB of RAM and 1TB of memory storage. It has got four 3.0 USB ports and can also work as a TV because the cable box, game console, set-top box etc. can be connected via the available HDMI port. It doesn’t however have the DisplayPort which can connect a video source to the monitor required nowadays by most companies.

The centre of attraction of the device is its screen. The curved and full HD screen is 27 inches wide and has a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. The display is manufactured using a TN Vs. IPS Vs. VA | TN Panel.com thus providing it short response time and making it suitable for the purpose of gaming. According to Samsung, the curve actually tricks you into thinking that the screen is larger than 27 inches. Most technical enthusiasts believe that the curve is nothing but a marketing tactic but it is undeniable that the curve will generate a great immersive experience for the user and will also reduce the screen glare substantially.

Besides the display, a few other notable features are that it comes SideSync 3.0 software which will allow Galaxy smartphone users to mirror their phone on the screen as well as receive calls and texts on the PC. Also, the PC has built-in 10W speakers that provide lossless audio transmission thanks to the Aptx. Samsung product manager David Ng said that the PC unit of Samsung worked along with the TV unit to overcome the challenge of fitting the electronics behind the curved display. He also said that the users will become more comfortable with the device eventually after they start using it. Samsung could not comment in which countries will The PC be available but they said that it will cost $1299 and will go for sale from February 2015.
