Gable roof is the most frequent used type of roof in the world. It consist of 2 roof surfaces, usually with rectangle shape, with equal size and pitch. This type of roof is commonly used in a place where there is always a harsh weather or heavy snow .The angle of roof directs the snow and rain fall off. The roof must be at 20-45 degree angle.

How to Calculate Roof Pitch Angles?
    * Calculate the total span by measuring the outside of both exterior walls. For this, hook the measuring tape to one wall and extend the tape to the outside of the opposite exterior wall.
    * Determine the total rise by measuring from the ridge of the roof to the top plate of the house; convert this measurement in to inches to form a story pole.
    * On the story pole, mark the top of the house top plate, and then put a mark higher up to determine the top of the roof ridge. The story pole can be a two-by-four board which is either marked or cut to the height of the house roof.
    * Divide the total span measurement from step one by the number calculated in step two. Now convert the divided total span to feet and remaining inches to decimal feet; this will give the measurement of the total run.
    * Now take the total rise from step two and divide it by total run from step four; this will give the unit rise. This measurement gives the inches by which the roof rafter will rise vertically per foot of run.
    * If the rise measurement is 3 inches, the pitch is '3:12'. Now take the inverse tangent of the ratio to determine the roof pitch angle, i.e. 3:12 = atan(3/12) = 14 degrees.

Roof shingles are a roof covering consisting of individual overlapping, flat, rectangular, single, shingles that are laid out in rows without the side edges overlapping.
    Types of Roofing Shingles
*Asphalt shingles-also known as composition shingles. They are a very popular choice as they are inexpensive and extremely durable. They can last anywhere between 20 to 30 years. Aside from that, these shingles are strong and sturdy. They are fire resistant and can be manufactured in a wide range of colors and styles.

*Clay Tile Shingles-common on places with warmer climate areas such as Florida. They can be overlapping or interlocking and provide superior fireproof protection and durability. They are not suitable for climates in the frost zone as they will be prone to breaking, and water damage.

*Cedar Shingles-are very good looking and add to the royal look of a home. Cedar shingles come in cinnamon, honey and silvery gray colors. This type of roofing is avoided by people because it is not resistant to fire at all. They require regular cleaning and care, otherwise their appearance may fade within a short time.

Slate-a very costly choice to roofing your home. Slate tiles are resistant to insects, weather, and they can also provide good protection against fire. It is also considered the most sophisticated and stylish of all roofing material. It comes in a variety of textures, colors and quality levels.

*Wood Shingles-were lightweight, made with simple tools, and easily installed. They have a smooth finish and are cut to a particular size. Although wood provides a very unique look to a home, it demands a lot of maintenance. Using this material for roofing can be a costly affair, as insects and rot can damage the material easily.

    Cool Roof
Cool Roofs are roofs consisting of materials that very effectively reflect the sun's energy from the roof surface.Cool roofs can reduce the roof surface temperature by up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit, thereby reducing the heat transferred into the building below. This helps to reduce energy costs (by keeping attics and ducts cooler), improve occupant comfort, cut maintenance costs, increase the life cycle of the roof, and reduce urban heat islands along with associated smog.

    Some benefits of Cool Roofs:

    * Save on annual electricity bills by reducing summer air conditioning costs.

    * Save peak electricity demand costs if you have time-of-use metering.

    * Reduce roof maintenance and replacement expenses by extending roof life.

    * Increase indoor comfort in summer by reduction of infrared conversion from visible light.

    * Reduce the "heat island effect" in cities and suburbs.

    * Reduce air pollution and smog formation.

    * Reduce roofing waste added to landfills.

EPDM Roof-it is known by the chemical name ethylene propylene diene monomer. It is commonly used in new single-ply roofing projects. The material creates an excellent moisture barrier and is relatively simple to install. EPDM roof is expected to last 25-30 years with minimal routine maintenance and the older applications of this technology have been on buildings for 25 years and still going strong.

There are different types of roofs that are widely used in home building. These are:

    • Asphalt composite shingles - The most popular roofing type in the United States. The shingles are made of asphalt covered with ceramic granules. This type carries different classes of fire ratings, making it one of the most durable roofs in home building.

    • Asphalt fiberglass composition roofing - This is made from fiberglass that is infused with asphalt, then covered with ceramic wrapped granules. It is mainly used in houses or structures which need better-than-average protection against harmful atmospheric elements.

    • Metal roofing - As its name implies, this is made of metal. It is primarily used by commercial establishments because it is quite expensive, though there are now homeowners who prefer a metal roof.

    • Tile roofing is one of the oldest types used in home building. It can be either clay or concrete, and the tiles come in different styles and finishes. If you plan to install a tile roof, however, you will need extra structural reinforcement to support its heavier weight.

    • Wood shingles and shakes are made from different kinds of wood, such as cedar and southern pine redwood. The wood could be left natural, preserved, or fire-treated. Wood shingles and shakes are popular for residential and commercial applications, especially in the Northwest and Midwest United States. To know more about go to <a href="https://www.processregister.com/find/Find.asp?SearchTy=PName&SearchSu=roof&SearchKe=AllKey&SearchLo=ALL&x=0&y=0" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Search Results For Products By Name: [ roof ]</a>
