VR-3 of course has features which are found in VR-5 like a 4 channel video switcher, built in touch screen LCD monitor, Built in stereo monitor among others the, important update is its capability to send both video as well as an audio to a PC using a USB cable port. The AV mixer is controlled by four composite ports and a D- Sub port. The outputs i.e. monitor displays four outputs simultaneously. When both input and the output buttons are pressed together, the output picture is overlaid on the monitor screen.

The audio effects like that of VR-5 like Reverb, Enhancer and Master Hi/Lo filters are also available.  The VR-3 AV charger requires 2 hours to fully charge and eneloop 9V rechargeable battery. The VR-3 AV charger weighs just 2 Kg and hence portable. The mixer measures 303mm X203mm X80mm height.

The hassle free equipment is for those who have always wished for minimum gadgets for mobile use. Perhaps that is why Kiban International has been successful in developing the smallest mobile broadcasting vehicle aka a Honda Gyro. The device will be available in Japan this December with a price tag of $2000. Like any other Roland device, VR-3 is also expected to be successful after launch, the mixer is designed for getting an optimum quality of sound and video mixing by Roland Corp. The amount of success that it will enjoy will only be seen after its launch.
