RoboCup 2010 in Singapore: 19th to 25th June

The Football Fever is in the air. Then, how can this arena remain untouched by Technologists around the globe?

Since 1992, RoboCupTM Group has made an attempt to foster AI and intelligent robotics research by providing a standard problem where wide range of technologies can be integrated and examined, as well as being used for integrated project-oriented education. For this purpose, RoboCup chose to use Soccer game as a primary domain.

#-Link-Snipped-#This year, Singapore won the bid to hold Singapore's inaugural RoboCup in June 2010. And yesterday the event began with a Welcome ceremony at Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Apart from the Major attraction of the various Competitions, the RoboCup 2010 is also going to conduct Exhibitions and the 14th annual RoboCup International Symposium for the presentations and discussions of  the scientific contributions to a variety of research areas of the Robotics Field.

It is a Mega-Event and Robotics Enthusiasts from various parts of the World are taking part. The Competitions broadly consist of:

RoboCup 2010 Soccer
The ultimate goal of the RoboCup project being, developing a team of fully autonomous humanoid robots that can win against the human world champion team in soccer by 2050.

RoboCup 2010 Rescue
It aims at designing a rescue robot that can be useful in large scale disaster situations.

RoboCup 2010 @Home
The main aim is to develop useful robotic applications that can assist humans in everyday life, especially in a basic home environment.
RoboCup 2010 Junior
It is basically a project-oriented educational initiative for students up to the age of 19 through hands-on experiences with electronics, hardware and software.

This is the right opportunity to get your hands dirty Designing and programming Robots. The event is open for Participants as well as Visitors. Do not miss the fun this occasion.
