Project Abstract / Summary : ABSTRACT
Web GIS is an advanced technology to manage and display all geographical location on earth surface. This paper deals with capital investment of govt and non-govt organisation, to manage the assets, most efficiently and get the longest and highest return on previous investments. This approach combines both spatial and non-spatial data. In this paper web based web GIS architecture is implemented using Geoserver, PostGIS and Openlayers. Neendakara A Revenue villgae,of Kanyakumari district, Tamilnadu is chosen as study area.. This application may help developing countries which cannot afford a lot for their asset management.

Why did you choose to work on this project topic : Since there is no proper Information system to manage the assets in a web based environment, which is very essential for the further growth of the nation to attain the position of a developed country.
