Railway Tunnel Automatic Light Control With Ventilation System Using Solar Panel

Project Abstract / Summary : The Indian Railways are one of the largest networks in the world and most of the people travel through railways. At times when train goes through the tunnel, there is no light and ventilation system in the tunnel. Therefore we are designing a system which provides the light & ventilation system in the tunnel. This system also plays an important role for the old passenger’s health.

We are using solar panel for the power supply hence we are generating light using non-conventional energy source. Also IR sensors are used for detection of train. When the train enters into the tunnel, lights in the tunnel are automatically switched on and with help of two fans i.e. exhaust and cooling fan the ventilation is achieved.

Why did you choose to work on this project topic : We have chosen to work on this project because by using this system we can control the ventilation system and light system in the tunnel which is important for passenger health and railway safety. It would also be able to reduce the energy usage by using a solar panel.
