Tech giants are in for a fight in a bid to overpower one another, centring around their USP which is being economical. Recently, Indian electronics manufacturers and suppliers, especially newcomers have been engaging themselves in a rat-race to unimaginably lower smartphone prices, going beyond the perceived limit.
Think of 100 Rs. What can you buy using that? A game DVD or a cheap card reader? Can you think of a smart phone with that budget? Well, apparently now you can. A Bangaluru based start-up named Namotel had recently launched their trump card, the world's cheapest smartphone at an unimaginable price Rs 99, named "Achhe Din".

Initially the phone was available at a price of 2999. All of a sudden, their was an unimaginable price cut that lowered it to Rs. 99. Company head Madhava Reddy demonstrated the phone with a bold announcement of presenting the world's cheapest smartphone. Providing a snippet of its specifications, the phone sports a 4 inch display with 480Ã800 pixels WVGA resolution coupled with 1 GB of RAM. The system runs the Android 5.1 Lollipop version and is stuffed with 4 GB internal storage which can be extended to up to 32 GB expandable memory if a microSD card is inserted. The phone also boasts of a 2 MP primary camera , while a selfie-camera of VGA quality is present in the front. Connectivity wise, it features 3G support combined with a dual sim slot.
Although not fancy enough, it has definitely not been a cake walk to add such features in a gadget, up for grabs at Rs 99. The fever of #-Link-Snipped-# from Ringing Bells is still on, and as we all might have guessed, it is currently constricted under legal jargon. Making the latest "Achhe Din" fishy, the process of owning this amusing smartphone includes a much complicated process. One could buy the phone using "#-Link-Snipped-#", paying Rs 199. But the website is not even opening and direct booking has been shut off since 19th May which was promised to be up and by 25th May. All the points indicate that it could be another scam, but the world is looking forward to know whether this smartphone will indeed usher 'Achhe Din' for the common man?
