Qualcomm MU-MIMO To Triple WiFi Speeds At Home, Office And Public Hotspots

Qualcomm Incorporated has announced the Qualcomm VIVE 4-stream 802.11ac solutions with multi-user MIMO (MU-MIMO) that can achieve up to triple the current WiFi speeds. At its core is the Qualcomm Atheros’ innovative precision-based, algorithm technology, which will use MU-MIMO to make the traditional Wi-Fi faster and better. By adapting to the changes in channel conditions, device movement and application requirements, MU-MIMO strives to achieve maximize throughput and device performance. In current systems, a single device is responsible for sending and receiving data. Whereas, MU-MIMO makes more efficient use of available Wi-Fi network capacity and bandwidth as well as maintains better connections in complex multi-user networks, all the while achieving airtime efficiency.

Qualcomm #-Link-Snipped-# to enjoy the most of MU-MIMO, it must be used on both sides of the connection. Therefore, the company is working on building a complete ecosystem of solutions for networking products, as well as smartphones, tablets, computers, consumer electronics and automobiles. Yep, all that. Taking the first step, Qualcomm Atheros is introducing the QCA9980 and QCA9982 solutions for routers and gateways, and the QCA9990 and QCA9992 solutions for enterprise access points.
