Qualcomm Inc. Unveils Snapdragon 400 and 200 Processors

Noticing the popularity of the entry level smartphones in the market Qualcomm Inc. has now revealed its two new SoCs the Snapdragon 400 and 200. Let’s take a closer look at both the processors one by one.

Snapdragon 400 Processors

This family of processors come in both dual and quad-core CPU variants. The dual-core Dual Krait CPU will run at 1.7 GHz per core with Asynchronous Symmetric Multiprocessing (aSMP) which promises high performance while consuming less power. The quad-core version meanwhile features Quad ARM Cortex-A7 CPUs running at up to 1.4GHz per core. This chip includes Adreno 305 GPU, LPDDR2 or LPDDR3 RAM, support for key modem technologies including TDSCDMA, DC-HSPA+ (42Mbps), 1x Advanced, W+G CDMA, dual SIM capability, support for camera sensors up to 13.5 megapixels, and support for Miracast, a wireless display technology that streams content from your mobile device to an HDTV.

Snapdragon 200 Processors

These processors contain Quad ARM Cortex-A5 CPUs running at 1.4 GHz per core with an Adreno 203 GPU and LPDDR 2 RAM. These SoCs offer CDMA multimode/UMTS modem options, Multi-SIM capabilities, support for camera sensors up to 8 megapixels and high-accuracy GPS.

Last month Qualcomm had launched its #-Link-Snipped-# for high end smartphones and the #-Link-Snipped-# is powered by a Snapdragon 600.
