  Friends,
  What takes to set up a small scale industry of Pumps? I am talking about water cooler pumps and other related water lifting devices.
  
  What are the jobs available in this sector? How much capital is normally invested?

  Thank you for bringing up this topic. There's very little knowledge available about setting up small scale industries. I look forward to responses.

  What is the difference if I buy land within City limits or outside City limits for setting up this industry?
  What is the impetus offered by Government in each of the cases?

  Its a good idea.. a few questions/suggestions
  
  1. Whats the scale of production you are looking at?
  2. Also i feel buying land is an option if you have enough funds. Leasing sounds feasible to me.
  3. Also i suggest you have a look at the Facility planning & design part of it. (layout planning)
  4. Lastly i am sure you would have the pre-requisites in place- Capital, Biz plan (end to end), contingency plan if at all required etc.

  Well I am basically talking about a SSI unit. So it is understood that the capital involved is less than INR 10 million.
  
  What will be the scale of manufacturing?
  Well it would be very early to talk about this topic as I am yet to do a proper market survey. But I have a basic idea that the motor pumps can be fitted in coolers which is a good industry in the city I am staying.
  
  What I want to know is what are the incentives offered by government? Let us say that I try to get a loan at a rate of 14% or so from a bank. Is there any government scheme which can help people to raise capital at a less interest for initially sustaining business?
  
  This is just how to raise capital. What about other schemes? On the internet I am getting all sorts of information, but I want to talk to people who are already into this field of SSI.
  
  Please tell me more about Lease of land.and share with us your ideas on facility planning. 😀

  Yes i am not a guy with loads of experience in a SSI but I do have my friends into this (though not pumps)
  
  And govt there might be many schemes but i think getting it sanctioned is a big challenge. Pls try in Prime minister employment generation program scheme. (PEGP).
  
  I think if the SSI is in the outskirts it will help. Also you can try for VC's with your idea.
  
  For raising capital i think govt bank if you approach thats the best. It takes time to get sanctioned but its beeter. This is my take.
