Pressure gauge

For a pressure gauge mounted vertically on a horizontal pipeline, the flow of the fluid in the pipe will tend to be in the horizontal direction since that is the least resistance path for the flow.So will any fluid flow into the bourdon of the pressure gauge and give any reading?

Yes, they do make vertical gauges for use in horizontal pipes.

if there is higher pressure downstream, it will be working.
For fluid flow for which the pressure delta is low, pitot static tube is a good device to calculate the velocity and the equivalent pressure head of it.
