Port programming

hi, am Aaditya presently searching out for "good ideas" for minor project.

can any one tell me abt "port programming" in C++, any books related to advanced c++ & port programming.


And what all can be done throught port programming.......

I am thinking to make a rf controlling pannle which can be controlled by a PC.

I am new to all this stuff, pls help me guys
