All the three variants of the Panamera Turbo series are powered by a new, compact and lighter 4.0-litre twin turbo V8 engine that pumps out 550 hp and delivers 770Nm of torque with a compression ratio of 10.1:1. The engine is mated to the Porsche’s newly developed PDK (Porsche Doppelkupplung) eight-speed dual-clutch Automatic transmission for sending the power to all the four wheels. It offers four driving modes namely, Normal, Individual, Sport and Sport Plus allowing the driver to choose as per requirement. There is also the Porsche’s adaptive cylinder control which enables the driver to turn off four of the eight pots to conserve fuel and save power when not required. The cars offer a fuel economy of 7.8 kmpl in cities and 13.8 kmpl in extra urban areas.

Despite using the same engine, the three variants have different weight and dimensions resulting in a difference in the claimed 0-100kmph time. The standard Porsche Panamera Turbo does the sprint in 3.7s, Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo completes it in 3.8 seconds while the Panamera Turbo Executive takes 3.9s. All the three models can reach a top speed of 306 kmph. Porsche is also offering a special Sports Chrono Package costing Rs 3.96 lacs extra, that will boost the 0-100kmph time of the cars by bringing it down by up to 0.2 seconds.
