Project Abstract / Summary : PLC based Automation in Apartments for Safety.
    Abstract:
The various sensors essential for smart monitoring and control of various electric appliances in real time using programmable logic controller (PLC) has been accomplished in the present work. The real time system developed is highly effective, efficient and robust. The concept of automation is to connect all the systems and devices to a central controller so that they can be controlled from anywhere and react to one another. Various sensor used here are Water level detector, Smoke Detector, Earthquake Detector, Proximity sensor , Gas leakage sensor and LDR for automatic lighting of street lights in apartments.
Smoke detector on exposure to smoke generates alarms which notify the fire department which can take appropriate action and thereby helps to avoid hazards. This sensor shall detect the pre-occurrence of an earthquake and shall provide the red-alert speaker alarm to notify the community about the upcoming natural calamity/ disaster. This sensor provides an early warning by detecting the sound wave of the earthquake before its shear wave strikes the area. Thus the project has a main objective of saving human lives from dangerous situations and warning them properly to take necessary step with the Help of PLC.

Why did you choose to work on this project topic : To overcome the explosion happening due to gas leakage, fire accidents, and earthquake. Inorder to rectify these problem and to avoid explosions and to save human lives PLC based Automation is focused.
