Pivothead has recently announced a thrilling eye wear that bears capability to record 1080p videos. The sunglass is intelligently designed to hold an 8 Megapixel still camera, a 44.1 KHz microphone, gyroscopic image stabilization technology and a continuous auto-focus mode for sharp images all time. The device is set to record videos with H.264/MPEG-4 compression technique at 30 fps in two HD resolutions: 720p and 1080p.

Essentially there is an option to choose from four operating modes which includes Active Mode, Spectator Mode, Black & White Mode and Social mode. The actual operation of three modes other than the Active mode is still a mystery as the company has not yet revealed its functions. However, the gyroscopic image stabilization technique and continuous auto-focus process gets activated in the Active mode.
The camera power up with a touch of a button under the left temple arm and begins to shoot with the push of a button on the top arm using its default profile i.e. 30fps and 1080p resolution. Users can toggle between various profiles by holding some buttons and the device acknowledges the user with changing LED colors. In addition, the company also packs the Glasses Manager Software with the device so as to manage typical settings of the glass through a computer.
Interestingly, the camera within the device employs Sonyâs CMOS sensor which is optimized to capture crisp clear images at a greater pace. It is even surprising to know that Appleâs iPhone 4 and 4S uses the same sensor from Sony. The lenses include coating to avoid scratches, reflection and even possess capability to filter out unwanted frequencies of light. Now the company is on its way, doing all pre-launch stuffs and has plans to launch the device by this April just for $349. Clash your hands and get a device for yourself soon.
