Will they? Not in India I guess. Not in the near future.
Even if it does happen, how will the electric power be generated? Unless it is nuclear power, thermal stations will still pollute, though at a lesser rate.

    Unless the power required to charge the electric cars is coming from cleaner sources; we'll continue to have a hopeless situation. I don't see that happening anytime soon.

    It's just that we'll end up consuming more coal than ever before. My bet is on Atomic power stations and some big bad innovation in tapping the solar energy.
