Orkut Interface Update. Does Anyone Care?

Google's Orkut was once the Facebook, at least for Internet addicts in India and Brazil. Users would log in to Orkut and remain online all day. That's now taken over by the mighty Facebook. Facebook mercilessly ate Orkut's lunch by offering new innovative stuff for the users. Facebook went on to become the #-Link-Snipped-# and few months ago, it took over Orkut in terms of unique monthly visitors.

Then there were rumors of Google launching new social product, called #-Link-Snipped-# but Google's then CEO, Eric Scmidt denied that Google was developing any social product. While Facebook continued to dominate, Google's user experience team isn't ready to give up. Google recently posted on their #-Link-Snipped-# that they're introducing new user interface on Orkut. Check these images of the revamped UI -

To me, the UI looks inspired from Facebook. There haven't been efforts by Google to bring the users who migrated to Facebook back to Orkut. It's also not sure whether Google really wants people to come back to Orkut. We've following questions to VoiCE readers -

1. Would you go back to Orkut?

2. Is Orkut heading to deadpool?

3. What should Google do to bring Orkut to life?

Looking forward to your answers.
