The ubiquitous smartphone brand has officially unveiled the much awaited Oppo U3 smartphone, with a large 5.9 inch display, this time only for China. OPPO is yet to disclose the details about the price and availability of the new 4G smartphone. Till we find out more, let’s have a detailed look at the specs and features of this brand new smartphone that will be available for purchase in two premium colors-white and black.
Oppo U3 is powered by 64-bit 1.7GHz Mediatek’s octa-core chipset MT6752 and runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system. The 5.9 inch IPS screen renders screen resolution of 1920 x 100 pixels along with the aspect ratio of 3:4 for enjoying videos with perfect clarity. The capacitive, multi-touch screen has colour depth of 16.7 M colours. Supporting the TF card expansion, Oppo U3 handset features 2 GB RAM and the inbuilt storage is 16 GB. The information about the storage capacity of the external memory is not mentioned on the official site. For excellent audio output, Oppo has integrated AK4961 codec audio chip in the handset.
Coming to the camera, the new handset flaunts 13 MP secondary camera. The rear camera comes with Sony Exmor RS IMX214 sensor and video playback at 120 fps. However, it does not feature 4x zoom. In addition to the list, it also provides some good capture modes such as night shoot and the ultimate beauty 3.0. For selfies, Oppo U3 sports 5 MP front camera with wide angle lens.
Heading to the basic parameters such as size and weight, the dimensions of the smartphone are 156.8 x 81 x 8 mm and it weighs about 195 g (along with 3000 mAh battery). It comes with VOOC charger that charges the smartphone up to 75 percent in just 30 minutes. The connectivity includes 4G LTE, 3G and GSM. Interestingly, Oppo has also revealed a special case, called rabbit’s tail. The case has a white furry ball on its rear side.
