Oppo’s New Smartphone 'F1' Is For All The Selfie Fans Out There

Chinese electronics manufacturing company, Oppo is known throughout the world because every time they launch a phone, they bring something unique with the phone. The rotating camera phone which was launched a few months also belonged to Oppo (it was the #-Link-Snipped-#). This time too, they have introduced a new phone, keeping in mind the ongoing selfie trend. The first smartphone of Oppo’s F series is called Oppo F1 and is something you’d be interested in if you are selfie fan.

Before going into the details of the other specs, let me first introduce to you the highlight of this newly launched device: its front camera. The front camera of the device is of 8 MP resolution with an aperture of f/2.0 and sensor size of ¼ inches. The sensor of this size and a wide aperture means that the photos taken by the front camera (read selfie) will be about 30% clearer than a 5 MP camera and much brighter than clicked by a phone with an aperture of f/2.4.

In layman’s terms, all the above means is that even if there is low lighting, the front camera will be able to capture pictures every clearly. And even if the lights are really low, Oppo has provided the patented Screen Flash feature which turns the entire display of the device into camera flash adjusting itself as per the requirement so that the images don’t turn out to be too bright and look natural. So much for the front camera. Now let’s look at the other specs of Oppo F1.

The device has a 5.0 inch HD display and the screen has a protective layer of 2.5D Gorilla Glass. The edges of the phone are slightly curved rather which will allow the user to have a firm grip even if the phone is held across the edge. It has the Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 64-bit octa-core processor and is powered by 3GB of RAM. The operating system of the phone is the ColorOS 2.1 which is based on Android’s 5.1 OS. The phone has internal memory of 16 GB which is expandable upto 128 GB via microSD card.

The rear camera of the device is of 13 MP resolution and supports clicking picture in HDR mode. Under connectivity, the phone offers the usual WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, OTG and 4G LTE. The only glitch that the phone has is that its battery size 2500 mAh which definitely seems on lower side. The phone is currently available for pre-order only in US for $250 and in Europe for €229. The F1 is surely a great start to Oppo’s new series.
