OpenROV UnderWater Robots Let You Be A DIY Ocean Explorer

If you dream of exploring the depths of the oceans for your quest to discover the hidden treasures and would love to have a DIY kit for the same, your search ends here. OpenROV Kit is a brainchild of Eric Stackpole who had similar dreams. He along with a community of engineers and scientists from over 50 countries started developing ROV. The project found immense applications be it monitoring of pollution in streams or species identification in Antarctica. Designed to go as deep as 100m, OpenROV weighs just 2.5kg and is powered by three 800kv brushless motors.

The ROV moves and rotates using 2 horizontal thrusters and changes depth using a vertical thruster. There are 8 on-board C batteries that keep the OpenROV running for 1-1.5 hours at a stretch. Anyone flying the ROV will find it extremely easy to operate through a computer keyboard. The interface is hosted as a webserver and the video feed is displayed on your screen. You may check in more details about the project #-Link-Snipped-#.
