Omega, The Famous Timepiece Brand Has Unveiled Its Latest Innovation In Co-axial Mechanism.

Luxury watch maker Omega has come up with a latest innovation in its exclusive co-axial mechanism. Omega, the timepiece brand has improved the design of their improved co-axial 9300/9301 adding some simple yet elegant features. The modification in its design not only offers a cutting edge over other rival brands but according to the company it also means that Omega would not require an innovation for a century more.

The new design has a lot of advantages over its previous version. A chronographic function#-Link-Snipped-# has been added to the design. It is called Calibre 9300/9301. The column wheel which is a latest addition sports 12 hour 60 minute hands on a single 3 O’clock sub-dial, makes it easier for the wearer to read the time. Another addition is the time zone function. It is specially included for travelers who travel between different time zones. The feature enables these travelers to change the position of hour-hand without requiring “to stop” the watch. Another modification is the usage of Non-magnetic silicon balance spring. In other conventional wrist-watches a silicon balance spring is used which ages with time. This reduces the life of these time-pieces. As the silicon is being used in it, it will also age with time. However Omega guarantees 4-4.5 years of efficient operation.

The watch maker has spent last six years modifying its famous co-axial design considering every minute detail. Company’s president Stephen Urquhart feels that the combination of its recognized co-axial technology with the new non-magnetic silicon spring would help to reach Omega to new heights.

Omega has tried to keep the functioning simple. Too much sophistication was avoided so that the watch does not become complicated. A few days back, this co-axial 9300/9301 technological innovation was a hot discussion topic in a premier world trade show for timepieces in Switzerland. The trade fair is the biggest watch and jewellery fair in the world, with exhibits from all over the world coming for display.

Co-axial technology is a specialty of Omega which also an official time keeper for Olympics. Another feather in cap for Omega is that it is the first watch to be worn on moon by man. Sincerely speaking, the change in design is capable of meeting high expectations of company and Mr. Urquhart and the claim that it won’t require another innovation for next hundred years does not seem to be exaggerated.
