NOKIA Firing 300 Engineers In India

Nokia India has about 1500 engineers. The ramifications of the recent changes and deals at Nokia are now out - firing of 300 engineers and shifting of 700 engineers to Accenture. Nokia, one of the biggest mobile handset manufacturer has taken the step to reduce the costs and keep the company profitable.

Nokia decided to abandon their own Symbian OS platform in favor of Microsoft Windows Phone 7, which has left many Symbian engineers jobless. Many of those who are fired were working on Nokia's MeeGo platform. Nokia was actively developing MeeGo in association with Intel until it decided to go with Microsoft.

Any Nokia engineers reading this post? We'd appreciate your response.
