Nokia 6: The Return Of Nokia With Android Nougat: Features, Price and Tech Specs
The brand name Nokia is back on smartphones, this time courtesy of HMD Global an independent Finnish company which was granted the rights to the “Nokia†in late 2016. After making feature phones like the Nokia 150, the company has ventured into the smartphone market with the Nokia 6. Let us deliver the bad news first to the Nokia fans across the world, the Nokia 6 is and will remain exclusive to China. The good news here is that other Nokia smartphones which are probably expected to be launched at Mobile World Congress later this year will be available globally. Enough of the availability brouhaha let’s see what we are missing and if this smartphone is worthy of the legendary Nokia name.
In the press release, HMD Global spends an entire paragraph explaining how the exterior of the Nokia 6 is crafted out of aluminium. This results in an aluminium body which is much better than most smartphones in this range. The Nokia 6 has a 5.5inch full HD resolution display with 2.5 D curved Corning Gorilla Glass on top. Underneath the hood, we have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset with 1.4GHz ARM Cortex A53 octa-core processor, Adreno 505 GPU and 4GB of RAM. The Nokia 6 has an internal memory of 64GB and support for microSD cards of up to 128GB for memory expansion. The home button houses a fingerprint sensor.
When it comes to cameras on the Nokia 6 we have a 16MP PDAF sensor on the rear with LED flash and an 8MP camera on the front. The Nokia 6 also promises better sound quality with dual amplifiers and Dolby Atoms sound technology. The Nokia 6 will be sold exclusively through JD.com in early 2017. The Nokia 6 has been priced at 1699 CNY which translates to around Rs. 16,740.
