Nokia 6 2018 version launched featuring Snapdragon 630 SoC, 4GB RAM and 16MP rear camera

Finally putting an end to all the speculations, HMD Global owned Nokia has just taken the wraps off the much awaited 2018 version of its Nokia 6 smartphone. The launch is exclusive to the Chinese market as of now and the company may make an announcement regarding the launch for other global markets at the MWC 2018 event. The new Nokia 6, dubbed as the Nokia 6 2nd Gen, has got the much-needed upgrade in terms of processor, a bump in RAM from 3GB to 4GB, a slightly modified design with the inclusion of the USB Type-C port.

On the design front, the new Nokia 6 is similar to its predecessor with the only major difference being that of the fingerprint sensor which is now moved to the rear effectively shrinking the top and bottom bezels.

Diving deep into the specifications, the Nokia 6 2018 version features a 5.5-inch Full-HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) IPS display, 16:9 aspect ratio with the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on the top for protection. Under the hood, there is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC with 2.2GHz Octa-core CPU and Adreno 508 GPU backed by 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and internal storage of 32GB/64GB. The device also ships with a microSD card slot for storage expansion of up to 128GB.

Hardware wise, the imaging aspects of the 2018 Nokia 6 are kept the same as of the original Nokia 6. There is the 16-megapixel camera sensor with PDAF, f/2.0 aperture lens accompanied by a dual-tone LED flash at the back and an 8-megapixel, f/2.0 84-degree wide-angle lens shooter on the front for selfies. The only new addition to imaging is the 'Bothie mode' which allows the users to use both the rear and front camera simultaneously to create a bothie.

For connectivity, the Nokia 6 2018 version smartphone gets 4G VoLTE with hybrid Dual SIM, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio, USB Type-C, and 3.5mm audio jack. Sadly, the Nokia 6 2018 still runs on Android Nougat 7.1.1 out-of-the-box but the company has promised to upgrade it to Android 8.0 Oreo very soon. Powering the entire package is the same 3,000 mAh battery with support for fast charging technology. The device seems to be a good buy but might face some competition given the other similar options available in the market.

Its quite a relief for those who runs of of life so easily.
Specifications & design looks pretty decent and it can compete heavily on other competitors.Pricing would be the deciding factor at the end.
