No Surprise: MNP Implementation In India Is Delayed Until November 25

No surprises, folks! We knew this would be coming. Even after several delays in implementation of Mobile Number Portability, the TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority Of India) had confirmed that the MNP services will be rolled out in India on November 01,2010.

However, there are news that there's a persistent reluctance by the telecoms operators in India to implement MNP as they fear losing a large chunk of unsatisfied subscribers. However, the TRAI has confirmed that the MNP readiness is a must and TRAI has made it clear that they won't hand over new telecom licenses without MNP compatibility.

Despite these efforts, the MNP implementation has now been pushed to November 25, 2010. The first circle to get MNP will be Haryana and other circles will get MNP services by December. If the date gets pushed further, don't be surprised.
