    Recently looking at the very fast development in Ubuntu, I've switched myself from Mint to Ubuntu (Fedora is still a hottest OS for me).

    Being honest,I am enjoying it.Something in this OS is closed for some reasons - Canonical says so.And /root is unable to access using GUI but using CLI it is pretty tweakable.Woah woah woah what am I blabbering ? What was the title ?

    Alright buddies, don't you CEans use Ubuntu as primary OS ??
    There are loads of Opensource apps,tools,browsers,environments & now we got "Steam" too !
    Wine is able to bridge 90% of Windows games & applications.
    Yeah you can play Windows hardcore games like COD & BattleField 3 in Ubuntu & can even work in photoshop using Wine.so, inshort we have everything !!

    Please CEans, do try Ubuntu & once we gather enough people we will have a bigfat linux dedicated forum here on CE,discussing-sharing & developing some nice apps,tweaks & games.

    Any guys out here who "uses" Ubuntu as primary OS or anyone who is willing to move to Linux, do spam here !
    We will share/post some cute tweaks & tips once we gather enough interested people.
    Let's see how many CEans are interested.

    See I am spreading word of Linux & Ubuntu in the community where almost 150k Engineers have trolled once while some CEans troll everyday & some every hour 😉

    Very soon I'm going to use it as my secondary OS. Still my main work is electronics development there are some driver isuues but yes in very short time we are planning to move on Linux with open source compiler.

    Aha! And I thought I was the only one here! I have been using ubuntu for almost a year now. I dont even have windows installed in my system. Used ubuntu 9.04, 10.04 and currently running 12.04 LTS. I used Fedora earlier, didnt like it much, migrated to ubuntu, and its not only primary, its the only OS in my system!

    I am using Linux since my diploma days - back to 09 !
    Started with Linux & then ended up with Fedora, 'till then I never jumped on any other distros except Mint - I use to download Live image files of some other distros including Ubuntu to check the UI & other updates.
    But now I have dual booted Precise with fedora Beefy & truth to be told - I am extremely impressed with Ubuntu's performance.Though Unity lens sucks 'cuz I can't really tweak it (seems like closed source) 😔

    10 more days for Fedora 18 !
    Oh my goodness this have been the longest wait for Fedora community, 3 months ! 😳

    Exactly, and the best thing I love about Ubuntu is its too much user friendly. Other distros have some work to do in that area, and since unity came along, canonical has taken it to whole other level. Ubuntu users have increased rapidly in past few years and I am sure one day we are gonna cross windows....😁

    Used Fedora before, though it didn't really play nice with my old laptop. Felt Ubuntu is more easier to deal with in terms of hardware compatibility, especially if your developing a system with a myriad of devices (e.g video capture). Linux Mint looks quite nice though!

    Played around with CentOS at work once, quite a resilient server OS 😀

    I'm still waiting for CE Linux!

    Gotta buy New one & then I will try.

    It has Kernel 3.8 right ?Heard that 3.8 has major updates on speed & performance.

    Gotta buy New one & then I will try.

    It has Kernel 3.8 right ?Heard that 3.8 has major updates on speed & performance.
    Shit man! I know how that feels. My hard disk also got corrupted a year ago, but I had extended warranty, so they replaced it. Though I still miss the data...😔
    Nah, I didnt try it, I am happy with Ubuntu, but I did cover it for CE VoiCE, they have rewritten Anaconda, supposedly thats why they delayed it. There wasnt any news about new kernel. I guess they are using 3.6 only. There are a lot of other features too. Try it once you get your new hd.
