Nikon's 800mm F5.6 Supertelephoto Lens - A Boon For Wildlife Photographers

The competition between Canon and Nikon is something most of you know. Now, Nikon has made an attempt to bridge the competitive gap with Canon, using its latest product, an 800mm f5.6 supertelephoto lens. The details like cost and the date, when the product will be available in the market, were not announced.

You can expect it to be very costly. Its rival Canon's Canon EF 800mm f/5.6 L IS USM costs more than $13,000. I’m sure that gives you an idea. I think the price range will not affect its sales because it will be of so much help for wildlife photographers, especially those who shoot bird images.

The main reason why one will choose to use a super telephoto lens is to capture subjects at great distances away with unparalleled sharp definition. It is indispensible for those who shoot sports, wildlife and news events. Nikon will unveil this lens at Photokina show in Cologne, Germany, this September. We must wait till Nikon decides to release more info about this product. But one thing is certain.  It will be worth the money for wildlife photographers.
