Next Gen PS Vita To Be Available In Japan From October 10th For 18,980 Yen
Sony had left this one out of its IFA conference, but it is here now. The new PlayStation Vita was unveiled just now at a press conference in Japan. This 2nd generation hand-held console is 15 percent lighter and 20 percent slimmer than its predecessor. Sony has ditched the OLED screen and opted for a LCD one instead. The PS Vita now has microUSB charging and a gigabyte of onboard storage. Sony has also claimed that the PS Vita will last for six hours on a single charge which is an hour more than the previous one.
The next gen Wi-Fi only PS Vita will be available in pink, black, blue, grey, lime green and yellow colour variants in Japan from October 10th for 18,980 yen which is approximately 12,450 INR. Three special editions named as Gundam Breaker, God Eater and Otomate have also been announced. Since PS Vita requires memory cards, Sony has also reduced prices of the all memory card ranging from 4GB to 32GB. A new 64 GB Vita will also be available on the aforementioned launch date for 10,479 yen (6,871 INR). Global availability and pricing information of the new PS Vita is still awaited.
