Just as for regular text completion questions, you should read the question carefully and try to think of a word of your own to fit the blank. Once you are sure of the overall meaning of the sentence look carefully at the answer choices. The words you select will be synonyms (or at least closely similar). There may be more than one set of synonyms among the answer choices so ensure that the words you select make logical sense once inserted in the blank.

    @CB: You have to choose 2 options for each sentence. Read the question above the sentences.

    For question no. 4:

    Since the computer is more interactive it is no longer to be viewed as a passive tool. We need two words which both suggest a passive role for the computer. ‘Repository’ and ‘cache’ are words which are used for a storage place and thus, are the best answer.

    A. abiding
B. pervasive
C. perennial

    The problem here is simply to find two synonyms: abiding and perennial are the only possibility. Both mean ‘lasting’.

    @abrakadabra Nov 15, 2011

    @anuj: Isn't the meaning clear from dictionary?

    "Herald"
    (Noun) means official messenger of news.
    (Verb) means be a sign that something is about to happen / To proclaim; announce
    For eg: cheers that heralded the team's arrival.

    Heralded could also mean (Adjective) - publicly announced.
    For eg: "the royal couple's much heralded world tour"
