Need support in setting up BSNL 3G network in my Mobile Phone
I have a HTC Desire handset obtained from Europe recently through a friend. The device is an original and has not been modded / broken in any manner. I also have acquired a new BSNL 3G broadband data connection through SIM / USB.
Now, after the usual setting up hassles (mainly due to BSNL taking it's own sweet time to activate the network), the set is working like a charm on my laptop. But when I put the SIM in my mobile, I am not able to browse the internet. I get the message that Mobile network needs to be enabled or something to that effect.
Can anybody help me in setting up internet for my 3G HTC Desire phone?
Regards,
Pavan

Saandeep SreerambatlaIS the phone locked?
Generally phones will be locked such that they are available only for few networks! -
Kaustubh KatdareI doubt Desire is locked. I haven't tried 3G on my Wave yet; however I collected following information from various sources on the Internet -
1. You might have to select WCDMA from connection settings in your phone; unless you've 3G mentioned somewhere in the phone connection settings. The configuration is similar to GPRS setting.
2. You'll have to setup APN: something like - gprsnorth3g.bsnlmobile.in
Other settings may be left as they are. Let us know if you get it working on your phone. -
aspraoI've tried point 1 as suggested by you(Big K) but I don't know how to setup a manual network. The option just does'nt come up on my HTC desire phone.
I agree with Big K, I doubt whether the phone is locked.
Ah well... will try other options and let you know how it goes... -

Just try inserting your colleague's SIM and see whether you get the network.aspraoI've tried point 1 as suggested by you(Big K) but I don't know how to setup a manual network. The option just does'nt come up on my HTC desire phone.
