Need some serious career advice...!!

Hey Friends.. Okay so here is the thing..

I am a Computer Engineering student from Gujarat. currently waiting for the 6th semester result. By God's grace i have managed to get a decent CGPA so far. I want to make a career in Networking, i have decided to do A+, N+, and CCNA, in that sequence...(A+ just because i really want to). After Completion of BE, i plan to Go for Mtech in Networking and along with that CCNP and redhat...

My confusions are..

1. Is my anticipated path towards my "Networking journey" right?

2. when i googled for Mtech in networking, i didnt really get much colleges on the list. do i really have scope in mtech in networking. Anybody kno some good affordable college i can pursue my Mtech in...??

3. My final year project is approaching too. I want to make a project in networking itself, but so far my knowledge of networking is good but only theoretical..(Government college + my fault too, i admit!! ) .. so you think i can work things out with networking project with 2 months of N+ and CCNA training?

PS : I am gonna join A+, N+ and CCNA from "IIHT, Maninagar, Ahmedabad". if by chance anybody happens to have experience with them.. PLEASE Do share!!! otherwise any advice from someone here who is doing or having a Cisco certificate would be great for me..

Thank you! 😀

ok. I am sorry to be late here.

    Aris,
As far as i have noticed or am informed, there is no exclusive MTECH for netwokring. But, wait there is no need to be disspointed. It is an integrated course within other feilds such as Computers/IT or sometimes in communcations. Recently, i did a generic research on top univertsitied offerring courses in networking and here is the outcome.IITB, IITD need you to have a good GATE score . There are other premuium intstitutions like BITS, IIIT which offer courses. They value on GATE as well as some kind of internal exam.

Also, doing certifications in networking aka cisco path is also fine. but please be clear on what you really wnat to do?? is it routing and switching? is it security ?or is it design or you want to get into ISPs??
Also, please be very aware that once you get into certification process, its kinda life long process, the cisco certificates geenrally expire in 3 yrs and it needs you to either recertify or do a higer certification within this sapn of 3 yrs.Failure to do so, will end you up in recertifing for older certificate .
So, once you decide what you want to do , you can take that path of certifications.
Incase your intererst is in routing and swicthing, go for ccna , then ccnp(3exams) and then ccip (bgp, mpls, and Qos) and then onto ccie. Else , its always suggestable to do ccna to understadn teh basis of netwokring and then go for specific specialisatio0n for example security. You have ccna securtiy as well. but personally I think doing ccna followed by ccna securtity is the way to do.
    same is with wireless.
certifiactions need deedicated time and effort . They do isolate you from social life and if you are not willign to set your priorites right, it might soon prove to be a fade

EDIT:seems AKD has found few instituions offering MTECH only in networking

Even I have few questions to ask.

1.Should someone do that course only if it has some scope? What if he/she is interested in that particular field and so wanted to do M.Tech to gain knowledge in that field.
    2. Is it mandatory that one should have CCNA or N+ Training to do his final year project in Networking?I don't think so.
    3. A person who has CCNA and N+ certification and the one who don't have will have the same designation when they work in a networking company. What difference does it make then?

There are also few reputed universities which offer M.Tech in Networking.
    1.Anna University -Chennai, Tamilnadu
    2.VIT University- Vellore, Tamilnadu
3.Dr M.G.R Educational and Research institute- Chennai, Tamilnadu.
    4.IIT Madras.

no. if it interests you you can pursue it.

no needed. May be (s)he needs it to have a clear understadning before taking up a project

    3. A person who has CCNA and N+ certification and the one who don't have will have the same designation when they work in a networking company. What difference does it make then?
true but not so true. Designation might be same. The xample what i can give is someone who looks at itnernet for every question and someone who knows what is right thing to do. Certifications are useful only when they are taken up seriously and honestly. Cheating when you are learrning wont take us anywehre.

Thankss.. that was really insight and informative. I searched a bit and came to know that DAIICT gandhinagar does offer Mtech with computer networks as the specialization. I think i would try for it.! and hopefully will succeed.. and right now will start N+ and CCNA.
