Need help in VB 2008 Express and .KML format

Hi everybody,
I have a GPS module which is connected to my PC through Serial Port.
Using VB 2008 Express Edition, data received from my GPS model can be displayed in a textbox in a NMEA format. But my problem is, how can i change this NMEA format to *.KML (Google Earth) format and save it to my PC harddrive.
I'm new in VB 2008 express edition and i don't have any experience in XML programming.
