Nao humanoid is laser equipped, climbs spiral staircase on its own

The upcoming IROS 2012 conference will be special because it will showcase the Nao humanoid - the laser power robot that can climb a spiral staircase on its own. What it does is capture the images of the staircase through cameras mounted on its head and then analyses it with the known set of staircases. Then it figures out the 'right step' and makes sure that the obstacle is cleared.

Quite amazing, isn't it? Here's a video that shows Nao in action -
