MSI X-SLIM X-370 Ultra Thin Laptop Features

Here is another ultra slim laptop after apple’s Macbook air and Samsung series 9 . Less than an inch thick (0.898), weighing 3.09 pounds and a checkerboard design with a stylish colour print on the cover makes it look stunning. It comes with AMD’s power saving E-350 processor, which is a dual core processor. The manufacturers said that the processor #-Link-Snipped-#consumes only 18 watts off electricity. The 4/8-Cell Lithium-lon(2150mAH/4350mAH) battery helps you to work with a  maximum of 10 hours battery backup(for 8 cell battery) which is  about 3 to 3.5 hours more than Macbook Air and Samsung 9 series . It offers AMD Radeon™ HD 6310 Discrete-Class Graphics for a rich display on its 13.4” HD screen backlit by LED. The main memory is of the DDR3 type and the hard disk drive comes with various options (640GB/500GB/320GB).The video output is 1x HDMI, 1x VGA and the webcam is of 1.3megapixels. It offers SRS PC sound for enhanced experience with any kind of output. Its interfaces include two USB 2.0 ports and a card reader. The OS offered is Windows 7 home premium/basic (64 bit).MSI’s i-charger technology supplies power through the USB parts 3 times faster so that u can charge removable devices faster than others.It also has MSI’s own facial recognition software to let you access your accounts without entering the username/password .This laptop has 802.11 b/g/n WLAN card, Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR and 1x Gigabit LAN card. The other features offered are MSI S-Bar II,  MSI Easy Viewer, MSI Cinema Pro II. The price has not been announced officially but they will have to quote prices keeping in mind their prime competitors- Apple and Samsung which have greater market dominance.

The main hurdle these thin laptop manufactures might be facing is to maintain the cost-size balance because, thinner the laptop, more is the integration and more is the cost. Lets see how X-370 competes with the popular Macbook Air.
