mPassportSeva Free Mobile App For Windows And iOS Follow After Android In India
The Ministry of External Affairs or the MEA is expanding the platform for its mobile app for applying for passport in India. Following the Android unveiling, with the launch of mPassportSeva mobile app for Windows as well as iOS, Indians would now be able to get all the passport related information on their smartphones. We told you about the Apply For Passport In India Through MEAIndia Mobile App On Android & iOS back in July this year. The app let the users find the nearest Indian Mission/Post and establish contact with Indian officials there as well as access services related to the travel document and get consular assistance on the go. Later as we had #-Link-Snipped-#, Indian IT services company - Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) had started working on the extended service of the Passport Seva Project to develop the mPassportSeva app for Android, iOS and Windows operating systems.
The users of this mobile application are able to search for a Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) or District Passport Cell (DPC) in a district where a passport application can be submitted. This can also be searched based on PIN code. For certain states and districts, the users can search for police stations as well. Citizens residing overseas who apply for a passport service in Indian Missions/Posts abroad can also utilize this facility for searching address and other relevant information. Here, it is interesting to note that this is one of the largest projects of the Government of India under the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP).

The app for iOS platform which is of the size of less than 1 MB requires iOS 5.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. And the Windows version of the app runs on Windows Phone 8 as well as Windows Phone 7.5. And for Android version 2.1 and up, you can download the mPassportSeva app right away and start using it. Another feature of the mPassportSeva app is the fee calculator. It enables users to find out the applicable fee based on the service and mode of submission. Users can track the status of their passport applications by providing the file number and date of birth. In case the passport has been dispatched, delivery status can also be tracked.
The tremendous response that this app has generated is evident from the fact that the Android app free downloads have already crossed the number of 100,000. If you're going to download the mPassportSeva app on your mobile right now, we would like to read your reviews.
