Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus Get Unveiled At MWC 2017: Features, Tech Specs And Price At A Glance

Lenovo-owned smartphone brand Motorola has been a been a hit in the past thanks to powerful specifications, pure Android and affordable pricing. The 5th generation isn’t much different as it packs the features you know and takes it to another level. The Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus were unveiled at the Mobile World Congress yesterday. The Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus have traded style for performance. The home button now houses a fingerprint sensor for both the smartphones. The fingerprint sensor encased home button now replaces the navigation keys. The home button is capable of helping you go back to the home screen, take you back a level and trigger the multitasking view. The hardware on these two smartphones is different. As you might have noticed earlier they used to have the same hardware albeit a different sized screen. This has changed now and we shall discuss it in the next paragraph.

Let’s start with the Moto G5. The Moto G5 will be available in Lunar Gray and Fine Gold colour variants. The Moto G5 comes with an aluminium body instead of the plastic one on the former. The Moto G5 sports a 5inch full HD IPS panel display which is encased in Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Underneath the hood, the Moto G5 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset with a 1.4GHz octa-core processor and 2GB of RAM. The Moto G5 can be found with 16GB of internal memory. A microSD card slot is duly included for memory expansion. The Moto G5 has a 13MP f/2.0 primary camera with phase-detect autofocus and dual LED flash. On the front, we find a 5MP f/2.2 wide-angle sensor. The Moto G5 is powered by a 2800mAh battery that is charged with the help of a 10W charger found previously on the Moto E3 Power Arrives In India At Rs. 7999. The Moto G5 runs Android Nougat in its purest form. The Moto G5 will be launched in March and shall retail for 199 Euros or Rs. 14010.

As you might expect the Moto G5 Plus has a larger 5.2inch Full HD resolution display which is again encased on Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and has a pixel density of 424ppi. The Moto G5 Plus has a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset underneath the hood with a 2.0GHz octa-core processor and Adreno 506 GPU. You get either 2GB or 4GB of RAM along with 32GB or 64GB of internal memory. The Moto G5 Plus has a 12MP camera on the rear with Dual Autofocus Pixels and dual LED flash. On the front, we get a 5MP wide angle sensor same as the one on the Moto G5. The Moto G5 Plus is powered by a 3000mAh battery with the same TurboPower 10W charger. The Moto G5 Plus will be available in the same Lunar Grey and Fine Gold colour variants. The prices of Moto G5 Plus start at 229 USD for 2GB RAM/32GB storage and 279 Euros for 3GB RAM/32GB of storage. This one too will make it to shelves in March.
