More CE badges!

Hi,

I have one suggestion about CE badges for blogs and websites. For now, we have the "Proud to be a Crazy Engineer" badge (and that's cool!). But what if we add yet another group of badges for specific engineering trades.

In the profile snippet to the left of forum posts, we have this sentence saying "I'm a crazy Computer Science engineer" and so on. So what if we make badges shouting out the same idea? 😎

We can also add really cool graphics for different trades. Like binary numbers for Computer Science and Gears for Mechanical Engineers (Ah, clichés!). Well, just some innovative graphics then! 😁
What say?

    Off topic: I also had this idea of displaying latest threads on CE through a customized RSS feed reader Wordpress Widget 😉 😁 . Anyone?

    On both, may be. But I am yet to get deep and dirty in Wordpress. I am rather staying in the comfort zones of Blogger at the moment.

    Anyhow, I'd love to take up the badges idea. Only that, it will be slightly constrained due to heavy college works this month.
    I can get to you with the initial designs soon!

    Also, do suggest some related art work that can be included (in the background) since I'm not really familiar with your trade

    I'll make a few in bigger size and post here soon. I think we can have a maximum dimension of 200x200 px without exceeding the limit of a 'badge' 😉
    Do see them and decide which size id better 😀
    About making them brighter, do you mean the background, or the foreground text?

    Hmm, but then again, electronics is also in green. I think we can have badges in all colours for all trades.
    But, doesn't having a single colour scheme make it more uniform? 😀
    I thought black for mechanical is more or less accepted widely 😁

    The badges look awesome. If CEans want to use them on their blogs, I think we'll need variety of sizes 😀 . They can also be used in avatars on CE - but I'll have to make arrangements for bigger image sizes.

    The procedure to add the badge to your site is very simple: Just copy the code given the box below the image and paste it in your wordpress sidebar widget or add to blogger.

    * You've given the link to my blog instead of my webcomic 😉
    * As per the previous discussions in this thread, I think the civil engineers might prefer the new civil badge over the first one. Then again, its totally upto them! 😀

    A trailing slash indicates 'directory'. For example, /forum is different from /forum/ , the former represents a file and the later represents a folder. Useful when linking to the sites - the appropriate location helps in better and correct linking.
