Project Abstract / Summary : In this project we are working on the ‘Bearing’ mainly used in the mills which are used for crushing sugar in the sugar industries. At first we are modeling the bearings in the CATIA software and then analyzing the same model in the ANSYS software. By analyzing the model we will be able to optimize its load carrying capacity and its failure modes. The pressure which is acting on the mills i.e. directly on the bearings is very high. So by analyzing the very same bearing which is currently used in the sugar industries, we will be able to solve the problems regarding the failure of the bearings.
Why did you choose to work on this project topic : The use of bearings in the industries is very important.It sustains all the loads which is applied on it and protects the other components from failure.So to work on this we selected the very same topic.By analyzing the Hydrodynamic bearings used in the sugar industries we will know its reasons of failure and also will able to reduce it.So the expenditure of the industries on the bearings can be minimized.
