Not to be outdone by HTC Desire 820, Microsoft Devices announced the rumoured Superman codenamed selfie phone. The Nokia Lumia 730 and Nokia Lumia 735 have similar looks and innards, the only difference is that the Nokia Lumia 730 is a Dual SIM handset supporting 3G connectivity and the Nokia Lumia 735 can handle a single LTE connection and can be charged wirelessly. The prices of the Lumia 730 and 735 are 199 and 219 Euros respectively. When they arrive in India in bright green, bright orange, dark grey and white colour variants at the end of this month, we can expect the prices to hover around Rs. 16000 and Rs. 18000 respectively.

The Nokia Lumia 730 Dual-SIM and Lumia 735 sport a 4.7inch OLED display with ClearBlack tech. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and supports supersensitive touch. We were disappointed to see that Microsoft has left out Glance Screen in both these devices. Underneath we find a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and 1GB of RAM running Windows Phone 8.1 Lumia Denim edition.

Microsoft says that both of these smartphones are “the ultimate selfie and Skype smartphones” and it isn’t kidding. The Lumia 730 and 735 have f/2.4 aperture wide angle 5MP sensor that can accommodate as many friends as you like. It also preloads the phones with its new Selfie app which not only lets you access the front camera quickly but also lets you add filters and skin enhancements and even lets you slim down your face and blur out the background. For select markets it is offering a free three-month Skype Unlimited World subscription that lets you make calls to mobile and landline phones. On the rear you find a 6.7MP auto-focus camera with BSI sensor and 4x zoom capable of recording Full HD videos at 30fps. The only foible is that the phone does not have a physical shutter button like its recently launched big brother.

The Nokia Lumia 730 and 735 have a smaller 8GB internal memory which can be expanded with the help of microSD cards of up to 128GB. It throws in 15GB of OneDrive cloud storage as well. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and microUSB. Like all Lumia family member you get free voice guided navigation and offline maps with the help of Nokia HERE maps service. The company claims that the user removable battery will last for 25 days on standby and offer 22 hours of talk time.
