Micromax mobile is rapidly gaining market share in India by introducing power packed phones in India at a very reasonable cost. The latest addition to the Micromax Family is the X505 "Psych" phone which is MTV content ready.

With dimensions (104.8mm*56mm*12.9mm), this phone is very sleek! The phone looks stunning. The screen is 7.1cms TFT QVGA that supports resolution up to (240*320) pixels. Yes, the screen is full touch. The camera however disappoints. This great looking phone has only 2MP camera which is just 'okay' performer. Don't expect high quality photographs and videos from this camera. The phone is loaded with a music & video player that support various formats like AVI, 3GP and MP3 (audio), MP4(video). You can enjoy music through the standard 3.5mm headphone jack.

For Internet browsing, this phone comes with Opera Mini pre-installed. Note that Opera mini is one of the most preferred mobile Internet browser. Nimbuzz and SNAPTU utilities are already installed so that you can enjoy social networking and online messenger services on this phone. You can enjoy FM radio and FM recording facility is available in this phone.

For connectivity, this phone supports Bluetooth 2.1, GPRS & WAP. Absence of Wi-Fi is a HUGE disappointment. The phone is a Dual SIM phone with two GSM network support.

The phonebook support is very limited up to 2000 contacts, which is more than enough for a non-business user.

This phone supports upto 8GB expandable memory through microSD card. The 900 mAh battery disappoints, but on normal usage, you can expect upto 3 days of backup time. The company claims talk time of about 3 hours.

Price & Verdict: This phone is available at a price of Rs. 6000/- in Indian markets. I believe you can get much more from other Micromax mobiles at even lower price. However, be alerted that there are known issues with JAVA apps working on Micromax mobiles.
