Micromax Solar Feature Phone Coming Soon!

#-Link-Snipped-# with ICS is now one of the best tablet deals in India but that's not all, we could be soon having a feature phone from Micromax with solar panel. Yes, you read it right. Now you will have one more option than searching for a charging point. The catch here is that the phone will require three hours to be fully charged using the panel to give a talk time of 1.5 hours.

Micromax has made its name in the country by bringing out feature rich phones and other devices at a very low cost. Recently with the addition of Funbook, its entry in the tablet market is giving a tough time for other manufacturers with its competitive pricing of Rs. 6,499.

Micromax has also been providing innovative technologies in its products like phones with long battery life, dual SIM smartphones, projector phones, etc. and this time it was their intension to get rid of the battery charger. The solar powered phone will not be a smartphone but instead a feature phone. This is not the first time that a solar powered phone's concept has come up, Vodafone's VF 247 is already available for Rs.1,500, which happens to be a solar powered phone.

No other feature or specification details are available at the moment and we are expecting the phone to be launched within a week. What's your take on these type of phones?
