Micromax Dual 5 with dual 13 MP camera and SecureValut technology to go on sale today on Flipkart

Micromax Dual 5, the franchise's first smartphone with dual camera setup, has surfaced today on Flipkart. Though the sale date is still unknown, it is expected to be available from today at a price of Rs 24,999. Like every other Micromax devices, this smartphone also has brought a lot of controversies with it. Though Micromax claims it to be a made in India device, rumors suggest that the phone is rebranded and resembles the Qiku 360 Chinese smartphone.

Keeping the rumors aside, there is no doubt that the smartphone is a bit overpriced. However, the following are its specs which are offered at a 25k price -

The smartphone comes with a 5.5 inch full HD AMOLED display with a 2.5 D curved glass. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 is also present which protects the device from minor scratches and dust. The device has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor which runs at 1.8 GHz clock speed. It is further supported by Adreno 510 GPU and 4GB of RAM for multimedia and multitasking activities. Storage options include the 128 GB expandable external memory in addition to the 128 GB internal memory of the device. Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS is what it comes with and we think that it might support till the Nougat update.

Camera specifications are at its best as it has a dual 13 MP rear plus a 13 MP front camera with SONY IMX258 sensor. A fingerprint sensor is present at the back which adds security features to the device. Apart from that, the device also has a military grade chipset that allows added security features by locking the device within 30 seconds of SIM removal. A SecureVault technology has also been incorporated to keep the private data and files hidden.

Other sensors present in the device include an accelerometer, infrared sensor, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, and a proximity sensor. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.1, USB type C tethering etc. A 3.5 mm jack is also present which allows FM radio accessibility. The device is powered by a 3200 mAh battery with quick charging support which allows the phone to charge from 0 to 100% within 45 minutes of time.
